Peyote Stitch is one of the popular beading techniques for jewelry makers. With Peyote Stitch you can create various designs and shapes. One fun shape we’d like to share is the star shape. By simply using Circular Peyote Stitch you can beadweave and make star. You can use the star shape as a component for making bracelets, earrings, rings or however you’ll find this DIY Peyote Stitch beaded star components useful!
String five 8/0 seed beads onto the left side of your thread, cross through all of them with your right thread to form a circle. Pass through your first bead once more to close the circle.
Pick up one 8/0 seed bead and go through the next seed bead in your circle. Do this four more times until you have five little points in between the beads on your circle.
Ensure that you are exiting a point seed bead. Add three 8o beads to your thread and pass through the next pointed seed bead. Do this four more times to complete your first star.
Voila! You now have your beaded star component! Now, like I said, you can use the beaded start component in many ways. Just explore and play 🙂 See how Keri Dudas used her beaded star component? The beaded star component is now part of a ring with a matching bracelet!
