DIY Wire Jewelry: Flower Pendant and Ring Tutorial

We’re starting another week of jewelry making with our DIY Wire Jewelry: Flower Pendant and Ring Tutorial! This time you’ll learn how to use a flower to make a pendant and a ring 🙂

First, let’s watch a video tutorial how to make a flower pendant 🙂

Now, you’ve learned a simple technique how to make a flower. This is what’s exciting about this technique. You can also create a ring with the flower!

Here’s how:

Cut 80cm (32in) length of wire. Thread in 6 seed beads and let them drop to the mid point of the wire. Form a semi loop by pulling two sides of the wire upward.

Thread in 6 beads at the left of the thread. Pass the wire from the right into the 6 beads. Pull the wire gently to bring two rows of beads closer to each other.

To make the third row, thread in 6 more seed beads at the left side of the wire. Cross the right wire to the 6 beads and tighten the beads by pulling the wire gently.

Continue to form more rows until you reach your desired length.

Note:
When you almost reach the middle of the ring (approximately the 6th row), you might like to add in 2 more bead so that the ring will have a wider surface at the top.

We will make a square shape on top of the ring. Thread in 8 seed beads at both sides of the wire.

Cross both end of the wire into 8 seed beads.

Continue to form the other side of the ring.

To complete the ring, bend both end of the ring to form a circle. Pass the right bottom wire into the last row of seed bead at the top.

Cross the left bottom wire into the last row of seed bead at the top. Pull the wire gently to get both end of the rows closer.

When you have finished weaving your ring, cross the two wires to the next few rows. Trim the excess wire close to a bead and thread it back into the bead so that it does not stick out.

Now take the flower, attach one end of the wire onto the corner of the square from the ring. Wrap it few times to secure the position.

Pass the wire through the seed bead of the square base. When you reach the other corner, wrap 3 times to secure the position. Repeat the same process for the remaining 2 corners.

Adjust the position of the flower against the band. Tighten wire to ensure a firm position. Cut off excess wire below the flower.

Voila! You have a flower ring.

    1. This looks like a fun little ring. Thanks so much for sharing. Do you have any issue with people making it for sale if credit is given back to you as “inspired by”?

    2. Sky, did you answer the question asked by Regina Partain? I do am interested in knowing if we can make items and sell them if we give credit for the design as “inspired by”. Mostly I do craft fairs and flea markets local to me, but also have an Etsy shop. Thank you.
