Now, let’s try and make these fun and colorful beads with the Odd Count Peyote Tube Beads
Step 1. Slide in a bead that will serve as your stopper. Make a knot on the bead stopper and then string an odd number of beads in 2 colors. In this tutorial I had 9 seed beads, red and green.
Step 2: Slide in a red bead. Going left, pass the thread into the green bead.
Pull the thread and as you pull slide in another red bead and pass the thread into the next green bead. As you pull you would notice that the green beads are being pulled at the middle.
Keep weaving in the same manner until there’s 1 bead left to finish the 2nd row.
Step 3: To complete the 2nd row, coming out of the green bead slide in a red bead. Going downward pass the thread into the red bead(1), green bead(2), red bead(3), red bead(4) and back to green bead(2) and out again on the red bead you just added.
Continue with the 3rd row by sliding in 1 red green bead and going right, pass the thread into the next red bead.
Slide in a green bead and pass the thread into next red bead. Continue in this manner of weaving until your thread comes out of the last red bead. Now, from here, repeat Step 2 & 3 to complete a 3rd row.
Now how to make a tube bead? Zip it up! Let’s say you have at least several rows completed. At this point this only an Odd Count Flat Peyote with edges A – ending with up beads and B – ending with down beads.
Position your flat odd count Peyote vertically. Coming out of the last bead, pass the thread in zigzag direction.
Then come down again in zigzag direction. That’s it! Once you’ve zipped it up you the flat odd count peyote now turns into a tube bead.
