Beading Projects: DIY Beaded Anklet

I am not an anklet accessory fan but I do find them cute 🙂 Maybe I’m just not used to wearing them but I remember when I was a kid me and my neighborhood friends have the same color coded anklets. It’s a friendship bracelet that we wear as anklet and we got it from a store at a Mardi Gras festival. They were my best friends and we often buy the same accessories. When I entered high that’s when we had to separate because some migrated to other places. I was studying at a Catholic school and nuns are kind of strict when it comes to wearing accessories and so I had to remove my anklet.

Anyways, back to the anklet. I was searching for some beading projects and I came across Ruby’s Jewelry Designs & Beadwork. This is just made me say, WOW!

Did it make you say WOW too? I’m sure it did.

The design may look difficult but with a few ladder stitches you’d be able to make the band.

Ladder Stitch is an off-loom beadweaving stitch ideal for beginners. It can be used as the foundation to more advanced stitches like herringbone and brick stitch.

Going back to Ruby’s Anklet, after the ladder stitch foundation the fringes I think gave the anklet its highlights.

The fringes made the anklet look so feminine and it added elegance. Another possibility is that you can use the same technique in making a necklace. Just brilliant!
