You can use any type of beads and/or crystals and how long you wanted the chains to be, make it colorful or monotonous. But don’t be fooled, though this is not a jewelry making tutorial, you will still learn basic wire work techniques such as making loops and using jump rings, which are essential skills you need to learn in jewelry making. With this craft idea of using beads and crystals, you can add your own personal touch to your key holders and/or key chains.

Materials:
Key ring
1mm dia silver wire
0.6mm crystals
Chain
2 x 2.5mm dia. beads
2 bead caps
0.6mm dia silver beads
Head pins
Big heart pendant
5 small flower pendants
0.6mm dia. jump rings

Steps 1: Cut about 10 cm of wire & make a loop using the round nose pliers.

Step 2: Slide in a pink crystal bead, followed by a silver big ball, bead cap, an agate bead and a bead cap.

Step 3: Create a loop the other side of the wire.

Step 4: Bring up the key ring & attach a jump ring at the end of the chain. Before closing the jump ring, attach the jump ring into the loop of the bead cap.

Step 5: Cut 3 pieces of chain at 15 cm, 12 cm & 10 cm lengths.

Step 6: On the longest chain attach the heart pendant and the rest, attach the flower pendants.

Step 7: Cut a piece of wire. Gather the chains, fold at the center and wrap the wire to create a loop. Attach a jump ring into the group of chains then attach onto the loop at the end of the pink crystal.

Step 8: Slide in a small silver bead followed by a crystal into the head pin. Create a loop at the end of the pin and attach onto the chain like shown in this picture. Do the same for the rest of crystals and chains.

Voila! You now have a beaded key chain. Remember, there may be many variations you can do with the design. Just explore and be creative. Give it as a gift or make one for yourself for keeps.
