Featured Tutorial: Paper and Wire Wrapped Bead

I remember when I was a kid I used to play with my mom’s choker that she bought from Arizona; she said it’s a papier-mâché’ jewelry. I like it so much. I used to wear it all the time, but as I grew up the choker became too tight on my neck that I couldn’t wear it anymore, but it amazes me every time she would say it’s made of paper. I was only five at that time so I kept wondering how it was made into a necklace.

But now, I guess this is how my mom’s choker was created.

Similar to Mix Kreation’s version, my mom’s choker necklace also has prints on it but its colored ocean blue with white prints. It was also linked by loops at both ends but it’s not wire wrapped.

I kind of like the idea wire wrapping the paper bead because it’s given it added texture and uniqueness. Since I don’t know where mom kept her choker necklace and for sure, even if I find it it’ll be too, too tight on my neck now. LOL I’ll just try and make my own papier-mâché beads with Mixed Kreation’s Paper and Wire Wrapped Bead Tutorial. You could make some too for yourselves =)
